Poetry and Essay Writing Competition
Poetry and essay writing competition was held by the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Multani Mal Modi College under the guidance of Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar. This competition was organized in order to bring out the communication and writing skills of students. The event began with the Principal’s address. In his address he encouraged the students to participate and not to give up due to the fear of failures. The address to the students was further continued by Prof. Neena Sareen with her motivating speech. The total numbers of participants were 68. The competition started immediately after the address. The stage was conducted by Professor Simarjit Kaur and Jaspreet Kaur a student of B.Com-III (H). The judges for the essay writing competition were Prof. Parminder kaur, Dr. Deepika Singla, Prof. Mandeep kaur and Prof. Harsimran. The judges for poetry recitation were Dr. Amandeep kaur, Dr Gagandeep kaur, Prof Gaurav Gupta and Prof. Pramajit Kaur. First, second and third prize were conferred to the winners. In essay writing first prize was given to Navpadam (B.com H- I), second to Taneesha (M.com-I) and third to Aditi (B.com-I). The first prize of poetry was awarded to Damanjot (B.com-III), second was given to Parminder Kumar (M.com-I) and third to Ritika (M.com-II). Later the event was successfully concluded by a vote of thanks by Dr. Deepika Singla.
